Let me introduce myself: my name is Piera, an Italian heart that has found its home here in Northern Ireland since 2015. I have always had a passion for baking, and after years of mixing, kneading, and dreaming, I can no longer contain it: I'm really excited to begin a new adventure and start my own cozy little Italian-style bakery!
In my bakery, Cacchiona's ItalYou, from Italy to you, I take pride in making everything using only the freshest ingredients. That means NO pre-made mixes are used here! Plus, I believe in keeping things fresh, so my Dolcetti are never frozen. I want my customers to enjoy delicious, high-quality treats.
My daily homemade baked treats (or, as I like to call them, Dolcetti!) are also available on request: gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan.
I believe everyone should be able to enjoy sweet moments in their lives, and I want to make sure no one misses out on this joyful experience!

Hi, I’m Piera, and I’m super excited to meet you! I used to be a full-time nurse, but I decided to follow my dream and turn my passion for baking into something real.
That’s how ItalYou was born: my little cozy home bakery, where I get to bring a slice of Italy right here in Northern Ireland! I absolutely love sharing traditional Italian treats (let’s call them Dolcetti!) with everyone.
Since I’m a nurse with friends who have celiac disease, dairy intolerances, and even some who are vegan, I wanted to create something inclusive so that everyone can enjoy my Dolcetti!
It’s all about spreading joy, sharing love, flavour, and a little bit of Italy’s magic with my community, because sharing is what makes everything even sweeter!
GLUTEN FREE and DAIRY FREE INFORMATION: My gluten-free and dairy-free products are made in a separate preparation area, using only gluten-free and dairy-free ingredients and dedicated tools. However, they are made near a kitchen where non-gluten-free and non-dairy-free products are prepared, so cross-contamination is possible.

As a nurse, I also want to use this space to raise awareness about global health topics and international awareness days. I hope you find this as valuable as I do!
My goal is to bring a piece of Italy to every table while promoting inclusive baking for people with different dietary needs. I also aim to raise awareness about important health issues through meaningful content and engagement.
Q: Are your gluten-free and dairy-free products safe for coeliacs and lactose-intolerant people?
A: I use gluten-free and dairy-free ingredients and tools. However, they are made near a kitchen where non-gluten-free and non-dairy-free products are prepared, so cross-contamination is possible. Rest assured, I personally check all ingredients and scan them with an app, sourcing from the "free-from" aisle at the supermarket to ensure the highest safety standards possible are met.
Q: Do you make birthday cakes?
A: While I don't offer traditional birthday cakes, I would be delighted to prepare a lovely ciambellone or a sponge cake—plain, lemon-flavored, or chocolate—for your special day! I prefer to keep the decoration simple and elegant, focusing on one or two favorite flavors of your choice. I hope this approach suits your needs!
Q: Do you deliver?
A: Currently, I provide local delivery within the Newry centre area (up to the library) and Bessbrook area (up to the community centre and library), with a minimum order value of £20 or €20. Please feel free to contact me to discuss available options.
